When i had it you had to tune in exactly at the time of the event and they would do reruns of it. But you couldn't play it back on your own time. That or I couldn't figure out how to do it. So I never used it cuz I couldn't see the battles anyway and ended up uninstalling it.

Caffeine doesn't hold the VODs they go to the URL app. You don't need the Caffeine app at all, if you have pc or laptop just go to the website when it's live. I don't bother with the app..
Don't you gotta pay for URL app tho? Or buy a subscription or something?

its $8 a month.. i'd say it's not really a must, you can pass just watching caffeine events live... i have the URL app but don't use it much tbh
