your point would only be valid if directors who dont go down this road started doing it

comics have been around for decades. its just really within the last 25 years or so that they have been getting their stories brought to the big screen.

Im not discounting shows like the early batman series with Adam West, but this was once a niche arena, but b/c of the success of Marvel films, you somehow feel that they have destroyed cinema. nah b

Those are 2 from a very small list of directors who can make movies whenever they want, there's MAYBE like 5 total and they make movies every 3 years or so.
 
90% of the old school kung fu movies I grew up watching are unwatchable now.
 
Most of them hood documentaries about street legends are the same.
Kid grows up poor.
Kid watches older kids on the block making money.
Kid dreams of the fancy cars and clothes the older kids have.
Kid learns how to hustle.
Kid becomes a hood star.
Hood star forms a crew.
Someone beloved in the crew gets killed.
Hood star gets shot.
Someone in the crew starts snitchin.
Hood star goes to prison.
Hood star gets out of prison.
Hood star can only speak on what he used to have.
Hood star does not want you to follow in his footsteps and urges you to be a doctor or lawyer and go to school.

Frank Matthews doc was dope tho.

You mean the shit that's been around for 50+ years, some as far back as pre WWII. That's the cinema that's ruining shit today.

so, 300 is overrated af, full of plot holes, hasn't aged well, and basically Zach Synder has been eating off this since it dropped
 
I thought hereditary was ass and I didnt understand the hype not for one minute.

I know a couple others here mentioned similar opinions, but it was one of the best reviewed horror films in awhile.
