COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

Nope. But once he was out and Kamala was in, I knew she’d be better than Trump.
So are u okay with the party you're voting for lying to your face about something u can blatantly see with your own eyes? Even seeing how the media was working in unison to cover it up until they couldn't anymore?

I know you’re talking to Night. To answer your question on the general..yes.

I look at it under the full context. Yes they pulled fuck shit with Biden’s age etc.

The context is that the despite their fuck shit, they(dems) wouldn’t have pulled this same shit that they have in just over 100 days.

The context is that the Republicans laid out the the far worse fuck shit in writing and verbally for everyone to see in the elections.

The fuck shit with Biden is just one thing out of others, there was a reason I was singling that out for Night. But Kamala was also forced on us as an already unpopular choice.

They actually thought it was a good strategy to hide her as much as possible (tho at the beginning it seemed to work) and say as little as possible aside from rallies where no one is pressing her.

And the only reason they were put in that position was bc they forced the lie that Biden was mentally fit, though, like Myth said, ppl were tryna call that out in 2020 and were told to shut up n vote.

It sounds to me that y'all will take basically any bullshit they willing to give u so the Republicans don't win, and that's why they keep doing it.

If there is an egregious police killing of an unarmed black person and there are large protests in response, Trump is gonna direct law enforcement and the military to come down hard on them, possibly with the kind of violence that Esper mentions here.

Which is one of the reasons why I said it should have been unthinkable for a black person not to vote for Kamala.

Yes, both parties don't support reparations (albeit for different reasons).

But only one party would do shit like that.

I don’t expect anything from these parties. Just like I don’t expect anything from these corporations but still buy their products.

You have to live in reality and not some utopian ideal. When has the US ever had noble political parties? And why do y’all have so much faith that you can change an institution built on lies and corruption by standing on the sidelines?

So eyes wide open, I ask who’s worse, particularly for black people? This is transactional, not relational.

Don’t disagree with you on that fuckery.

I do disagree with the whole not giving the Republicans a win just because.

For me it’s levels. Biden and company lied about his mental acuity etc.

Sametime, he wasn’t pontificating about being an emperor and disregarding the constitution, amongst a lot of other things.

I know you see what has happened in the last 100 days. I know you know that Biden and company didn’t do and wouldn’t have done that either.

Trump so anti-climate change mitigation that he's doing shit like this.

The episode marks a highly unusual use of the Energy Department’s emergency powers under the Federal Power Act. In the past, the department has typically issued emergency orders at the request of regional grid operators to stabilize the power supply during extreme weather events and blackouts.

Dan Scripps, chair of the Michigan Public Service Commission, said he estimated that the 90-day order to keep the coal plant open would cost ratepayers tens of millions of dollars.

“What was surprising about this order is that nobody was asking for it,” he said. “The grid operator wasn’t asking for this plant to be kept online. The utility that owns and operates the plant wasn’t asking for the plant to be kept online, the state wasn’t asking for the plant to be kept online.”

U do expect things tho lol. And it's interesting that u use corporations as a parallel bc we are more of a corporatocracy than a democracy and it's not just Republicans playing that game but it is only one party that says they are for the poor and working man.

Idk where u drew the conclusion that I think we can change institutions by not voting. I want better choices that we all acknowledge exist. U justify Dems not even giving us those opportunities to vote for said 'better choices' and call it a good strategy.

I responded to something like this before, toward u actually

Right and I'm not defending what Trump is doing. What I'm saying is that the fuck shit is what turned enough ppl off to vote for Trump and Bernie is calling it out again, that regardless of the last 100 days, the Dems need to do more than just "vote for us bc we're not Trump/Republican!" And if they wont actually offer substantive progress beyond that it's bc they don't want to.

Protesting is cool. Do your thing.

Destroying LA (the very city they live in and depend on to provide for them) isn’t the right thing to do.

Neighborhoods, businesses, streets… all of it doesn’t need to be destroyed or touched.

This has just become anarchy for the hell of it. This only makes matters worse for them. Now on top of illegals facing deportation, the ones who are legal face criminal and federal charges. How do they now then help their family members who have been deported?

None of this makes sense. They had their chance to fight at the polls and chose not to.

But you know, I see it as this, America has been completely given over to their sin. The people will reap what has been sown. It’s as simple as that.

Yeah looking at what has happened in the last 100 days, vote for us because we’re not them seems pretty reasonable.

Again, the last 100 days is what they postured and said they would do in the election.

I don’t expect them to be honorable and trustworthy, that’s what I meant.

Deflections aside, is Trump not worse than Biden and Kamala? Would the country have been better off under Kamala?

It’s a pretty simple question. We don’t have to do all this historical re-posting.
