My bad, I didn't post your original comment.

I replied to that with a smart ass comment about the beef being a distraction from the sociopolitical landscape at the time, and that's where our thread started. Keep in mind that was before Trump got nominated by the RNC. My thing was, a lot was going on at the time and we could only pay attention to so much. The Drake/K Dot thing was irrelevant to me, but it held my interest enough for me to realize we were being played. I still feel like the Black community was sold a lot of mindless entertainment while Trump and the GOP was plotting to take over the gov't.

Speaking of Kendrick and my issues on his side of the beef... he's usually known for his sociopolitical commentary, especially in current times. His voice was never more powerful than during that beef. He said nothing about the election, nothing about the corruption of Trump and the politicians he had in his pocket, and nothing about the pushing of negative commentary on the social progression of non Christian white males... at least nothing as prevalent as the Drake disses. Then when he gets to perform in front of Trump, what does he do? Have Samuel L Jackson dress like Uncle Sam and throws subs at the American gov't while saying Drake's name with his entire chest. Not even a criticism on the SB performance, I loved what he did. But Kendrick had the opportunity to let his voice be heard at the height of his popularity and speak to the ppl that have been actively trying to tear down the foundation he himself helped build. Unfortunately, he like Biden/Harris and the rest of the Dems stayed in his comfort zone and pushed a narrative that ended up not mattering to anyone except Drake and his lawyers. It's fun to see Drake legally crash out, but I wish we as a collective used these platforms to at least speak on what's going on now while our voices are loud enough to do so. "We don't wanna hear that bullshit Sharief" is what keeps ppl like Trump in power.
Oh yeah, I stand by everything I said then
I can walk and chew gum at the same time
