COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

what Trump is doing is surprisingly similar to what I witnessed when a company bought the company I worked for.

Leadership was flooded with these can do yes men. That believed more in their philosophies of life than the understanding of human nature.

At the same time, they were all horrible people with bad morals and bad integrity. Who were more interested in flexing the power of their positions. Than actually doing the real work their positions required.

They moved through departments quick , dismantling the glue that held shakey structures together. Anyone that tried to enlighten them was seen as a problem and was either force to quit or was targeted with intimidation.

By the time they finally realized that they were in over their heads. They all begin to self persevere by backstabbing each other.

By the time higher up senior officials realized the shit show they allowed to be created, they bailed and took all they could , before there was anything of value left.

It was tragic and now, I don’t think it was unique to business. It a feature of power structures built on personality more than merit

This is typical for a lot of venture capital firm takeovers. What you’re describing though is a feature, not a flaw. They act that way intentionally. The goal is to get the company’s financial ratios to a point where it’s attractive to the next investor so they can cash out.

So they’ll cut the biggest cost lines, typically labor. Sales are usually going to continue given the market infrastructure and operations infrastructure of the company, but leadership and ancillary structures needed for long term success are destroyed in the process, because they don’t care about the long term.

So you have to wonder, what is the goal here? Is it to weaken the US and whore it out to the top bidders? Seems that way to me. Trump is trying to make the US a profit center and to hell with the people, just like in business.

And this is why most media outlets let the dumb shit Trump does and says just slide...he's good constant news story from them.
Yep. And that’s the problem with the press being beholden to shareholders and not their audience.

That’s why people are angry at what Jeff Bezos is doing at the Washington Post. He killed the Kamala endorsement and now he’s censoring the editors and killing stories so his other businesses won’t be impacted. He needs Trump to like him so he can get those subsidies and less regulation, so he’s pushing the paper right.
