COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

Do u know who first appointed CQ Brown?
Yes I knew Trump appointed him. That was when there were guardrails around Trump and he was inexperienced so just went with norms.

He also instituted DEI policies that he’s now firing people for pushing.

What he did first term does not matter anymore.

Bottom line, he was fired because he was black and it’s fair to draw that conclusion because his name was invoked when Hegeseth suggested he might only be in that position as a result of DEI.

I’ve not even seen anything suggesting he was promoting DEI above and beyond what he was directed to do by the Trump and Biden administrations. You think those other joint chiefs didn’t follow the DEI directives put in place by those administrations?

DEI is just the cover they’re using for their racism, and it’s not even a good cover. But you continuously disregard that fact. As black people, we’re particularly sensitive to these tactics.

I think we’ve all argued this enough, but wanted to conclude this point.

So one guy is fired for being black, while other black guy gets hired. Math not mathing.

But he was promoting DEI, and this current administration is purging it. Simple math.

U insisting that I keep disregarding it leads me to believe comprehension is the issue.

Good talk.

Appointed to HUD. That’s a slap in the face. Out of all of the appointments, how many others were black?

Those white joint chiefs were following DEI directives too, but not fired. Simple math.

Every black person in here is telling you what it is, so maybe the comprehension issue is on your side. Unless you’re lowkey saying we’re playing the race card.

This is a good point I'll give u that one

Stop it bro this is goofy
I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but every black person is telling you what it is and you keep telling us we’re wrong.

If we were discussing Covid or something I wouldn’t even entertain the thought.

Matter of fact, I know you don’t mean to come off that way. But I’m telling you that you are.

Do with that what you will.

The first post I quoted seemed to take the Hegseth quote out of context

Then most of the rest of the responses were telling me shit I already stated in the same first post

There is no added context needed. It's racist. Trying to add caveats to it and find different ways to look at only makes you look more suspect. You trying to explain to a group of Black people how something that's clearly racist may have something else attached to it is going to come off as "well it's really not that racist". Especially when you continue to take a tone of condescension towards the very group you're speaking to. A bit of humility in how you're approaching this instead of trying to prove you're the smartest in the room would get you a much better response.

My intention was not to downplay their racism which is why I made sure to end the post acknowledging that contextualizing it doesn't make it any better and clearly multiple ppl seemed to miss that part when they responded. Idk why we act like the condescension goes one way. I've been accused of and implied all sorts of shit but bc ppl misconstrue my intentions i guess it's warranted and not taken into account.

The bold is the main point. It doesn't make it any better so there's no point in trying to point it out. It's not that people missed it it's just that you're so dug in once again in trying to prove your point you're missing what's being said to you. Which is nobody gives a fuck about the other context. So pointing it out, especially being white and pointing it out, makes you look like you're trying to deviate from the main point. And then to say people can't comprehend what you're saying as if it's hard to figure out adds to the perception that you just gotta prove you're smarter than the Black folks talking about something being racist. It's not a hill to die on but you continue to do it because you just gotta show you're smarter than everybody else.

There's a reason why a few of these dudes look at you like the Tim Pool of ABW and throw sarcastic "Both sides" comments in here. You say both parties suck but you seem to have less smoke for the current administration

Those same dudes have most the smoke for Republicans and claim not to be Democrat

Are they liars?

I fully understand

Man MFS used to criticize me just for asking genuine questions. I argue my points like I do in the COVID thread as a good example. Has nothing to do w race on my end but I get that I need to move diff specifically when it comes to race I'll fall back bc I don't want to come off that way

Also I don't listen to or watch Tim Pool. I don't know what his fundamental views are but have a vague idea.

If the only people y'all ever come across in media criticizing Dems/liberals are similar to the likes of Tim Pool, your algorithm could be the problem.
