My uncle asked me what I wanted for Christmas back when I was in HS. I told him to get me some black Classic Reeboks. My family always ate brunch and exchanged gifts at my youngest auntie's house every Christmas morning. Come time for me to open my gift, and I saw these in the box...

I pull one shoe out of the box. My lil brother just looks at me

then literally rolls over in tears.

I tried to mask my disgust and displeasure with a smile

but I was super disappointed.


Everybody's lookin around confused at why my brother was so tickled and just figured he was being his normal silly/jackass self. They eventually moved on, but this nigga was still snickering, standing in the background the whole time while everyone else opened their gifts.

I was mad and sad as hell.


:cry:I couldn't go back to school wit these Cracker Barrel Prep Cook 13s.
Bruh I swear those shoes sat in my closet for years until I started this job as a housekeeper. They were so comfortable. Still ugly tho.

Really didn't feel confident coming out the house with these but I convinced myself I could "freak" em.

Which I did.

That same day, I met up with my lover at the time, for a sandwich date. Once we arrived, he looked down at my feet...and insisted he wasn't going anywhere with those on my feet but we did.

I dont play that shit.

But after that day, I never wore them again.
