Trump May Have Outed Whereabouts, Identities Of Covert Navy Seal Team

In a special ops faux pas during his first trip to an active combat zone, President Donald Trump seems to have inadvertently revealed the faces and whereabouts of a Navy Seal team in Iraq via tweet.

According to a Wednesday Newsweek report, pictures and footage of currently deployed special ops teams are usually edited to obscure the members’ identities, due to the sensitive nature of their jobs.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Operational security is the most important aspect of personnel deployments. The real names, faces, and identities, of personnel involved in special operations or activities, are usually a closely held secret in a combat zone,” former U.S. Navy intelligence specialist Malcolm Nance told Newsweek. “Revealing them casually, through an unusual media exposure even if it’s the commander in chief, would prove a propaganda boom if any of this personnel are detained by a hostile government or captured by a terrorist group. There would be no denying who you are and what you do.”

This would not be the first time Trump broke safety protocols. In October, the New York Times reported that Trump’s refusal to give up his iPhone has caused a huge security risk, providing ample opportunity for spies from adversarial China or Russia to listen in on important calls

Their faces were suppose to be blurred out.

The guy that posted it is a Democratic Politician.

Worst yet is he is also a vet with extensive experience in OpSec.

But do you know who makes that call on blurring out their faces? I'll give you a hint. It's not the reporter. It would be the CO of that unit first, then the Commanding General of that branch, then the SEC of Defense, then The POTUS. Basically the media needs to be told by the Chain of Command on who and who not to expose.

The gist of this is that Trump lacks leadership and guidance in his Administration and on top of that he's a complete idiot and he doesn't understand how the military works. If he was surrounded by competent people then he would've been briefed on all of the necessary info prior. Like someone telling him that this is an elite Seal Unit and you probably shouldn't even be meeting them on camera. Also because of his arrogance, ego, and being a complete narcissist, he doesn't believe that he needs to seek advice and judgement from experts because he truly believes that he himself is an expert. So no the media can't cover for his mistakes on this one. They actually have to be directed by the government to do it. Even if he wanted to that reporter couldn't blur their faces if he wanted to without approval from the COC. Even if blurring their faces is in fact the right thing to do.

This is Trump's Presidency in a nutshell. Just winging it and everything is straight of the top of the head of a 71 year old idiot.

Also I know about this because my face was blurred before when I was in the Marine Corps. I was doing a security detail in Afghanistan and a lot of military leaders from the United States and leaders of other countries were there. They blurred all of our faces who were on that security detail.

I do not disagree.

Fact still remains it was one of our own that blue falconed an entire unit.

I was working on a project for the Stryker Brigade out of Ft Lewis back in '06. I just got done setting up some sat-com equipment for a demo to brass and decided to get the green light to take pics of our equipment, nothing else, just for our internal use back at the office. Every pic had to be cleared through the chain of command. Pics with personnel in the background weren't allowed and if someone was in the distance, they either had to be completely unidentifiable or the pic was rejected.

I'm seriously not understanding how this pic got released. Someone from President Doofus' staff should have made sure this didn't happen.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could of sworn unauthorized photos was also a felony. I want to say I was told that when I welded for the Navy/Coast Guard. If they were that protective of their boats and personnel on a shipyard, it makes sense that would carry over to combat zones as well. IJS.

What's funny is that I watched a video of white people rambling about SJW's and the comment section was filled with them defending Trump in one reply. But at the same time they were admitting to his incompetence. I smh at it all.
