Anything 50 cent says is the opposite of the truth.

He killed the shit and had the Interscope machine behind him the whole time. Blacklisting artists, forcing people off of labels, bullying radio play, lying to the public convincing them that it was everyone's fault but his.

If you were in a house with a bunch of people, and you started kicking them all out until you were the only one left, and the house catches on fire... who started the fucking fire? The only MF in the house. So if 50 was the KONY right before NY fell off, that should tell you something.

Jay, Nas, Dipset, LOX, Terror Squad... NY was deep as hell. NY doesn't fall off unless some crab in a barrel comes along and strains every business relationship that made NY great.

The United States could turn into a Russian satellite nation by the end of this year and some of y'all will swear up and down Trump wasn't to blame.

Also might wanna take the rise of NY battle rap into consideration

The Beast Coast Movement was/is Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and The Underachievers. NY couldā€™ve created a new sound in 2005, and they still wouldā€™ve pushed the south. And Rocky sounds like a southern nigga.

thats funny i fuck with all them....not running down albums but I got em all in my playlists

50 Cent operated on the exact opposite principle of this. That's why NY fell out of relevancy. He divided it, conquered it, then lost it.

I think 50 had something to do with it.

Just think about the posse jams we missed. Jay, Nas, Cam, Busta, 50, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Jadakiss.

There could have been 4or 5 posse jams with those MCs

50 was never the problem. It's just the internet & the changing times. Anyone can blow up anywhere given the right sound/push. That & in alot of ways NY after the late-00's just aint catch up with where rap was going until really about now. You got select acts with the sound thats out now getting big with their brand of mainstream rap. If a NY MC that was approching the level of a young Jay/Nas actually came up with that trap/moody as fuck sound they got going now he'd be a monster out here. It hasn't happend yet.

To ya'll NY niggas.. what young MC that's making noise out there is on the verge of blowing up?

Another way to look at it is that Hip Hop is 40+ years old. Maybe the best years are behind us.

The best soul came out in the 70s and early 80s

The best Jazz came out in the 50s and 60s

Maybe Hip Hop has run its course.

Or maybe you are just old & tired... Hip Hop will forever be a young man/woman game...
All Hail the Current Emperor of New York ... Cardi B aka the Statue of Liberty

50 didn't kill eastern innovation. Once southern styled production took over it was a rap. East Coast rappers even jumped on that wagon

They said the same thing about Rock N Roll but there hasn't been a new idea in Rock music since Walk This Way

Being that he is from NY, did he really help it?

Not saying he destroyed it, but if he didn't help Ny's scene what did he do?

He might
be more responsible for the West coast Renaissance....
