Top Dawg Says TDE Will Drop Atleast 2 More Albums In 2018

It's kinda funny

I've known Mrs. Traci bout 10yrs & my 1st time hearin of Isaiah was like most of yall.. thru the media when he signed.. & our childhood homes are bout 3mins up the street from each other... small world lol
Help put me on bruh. I fuck with him Tut and The House. Big fan of the Chatt wave. @BRIAN B.

When Biggie was hot, Bad Boy was able to parlay that into making Lil Kim and Mase top international stars.

When Lil Wayne was hot, Cash Money was able to parlay that into making Nicki Minaj and Drake top international stars.

Why haven’t TDE been able to do that with their roster while riding the wave of Kendrick Lamar, who’s been hotter for 5 years than Biggie or Wayne ever were?

Simple....

B/c those artist u mentioned aren't TDE's artist; sonically, lyrically, or stylistically. The people you named are "pop" artist. That ain't what Top Dawg is mayne.

It seems that you guys label every successful selling rapper as a pop artist. I’ve never heard anyone describe Lil Kim as a pop artist, considering how a lot of people consider her the GOAT female rapper.

There are a lot of people that say Kendrick decided to go the “Pop” route with the DAMN album after TPAB failed to have any sustained success with radio play.

Who is "you guys label"?? lol

TDE is cool and all, but I ain't waving a flag for them. I catch some of their music here and there, but I'm not an avid listener either

I like how you didn't include Nicki and Drake (b/c you KNOW they're "pop") b/c it couldn't fit your narrative.

Lil Kim ain't been relevant in the "pop" rap/hip-hop world in forever. But when she was, she made shit for the radio a la Drake and Nicki like "The Jump Off", "Lighters Up" and "Magic Stick". And that's just the singles @ the end of her run.

Them TDE nikkas make music in a more organic sense. Hell, "Win" by Jay Rock was a concerted effort to make a radio song. I like the track, but he kinda stepped out his normal element to get a hit. Schoolboy is the only other guy on the their roster who crosses over a lil' bit w/o trying IMO.

Not hearing none of that. All those niggas are purposely trying to get a crossover hit song...LOL

The only people concerned with the “science” of rap songs are those that care enough to post on hip hop message boards.

The name of the game is making the most money possible. In order to do that, an “entertainer” needs to find a way for their name recognition to increase. The label is supposed to assist in that.

Blank face gets those accolades..

I can't see how you can't that Kendrick got competition on his own label...

If it's Q.
I'm expecting "damn" quality or better...

Expectations high as fuck

Q mic charisma is insane. Dude is really one of the most talented lyricists and it be sounding like he don't even take his self seriously. Dude came a looooong way from being the swaggerless rapper on Kendrick Lamar Michael Jordan song. Q imo will go down as a top 40 rapper of all time when it's said and done. His mic personas and complexity is something rarely seen from rappers .

Blankface and damn are on the same level.

I'm expecting both guys to get better.

I think Q, Ab, and ESPECIALLY Jay Rock are talented as fuck.

My argument since my first post has not directed the blame at them, it’s pointed the blame squarely at the label.
