Why isn't Kool Moe Dee ever listed as a top MC when these lists are made?

Straight up hate. Dudes would still be on that hip hop you don't stop rocking bullshit if it wasn't for Moe Dee. He birthed a Big Daddy Kane, KRS and Rakim
Moe Dee made LL Cool J step up his game, hell he almost beat him in their rap battle

Why does the music you choose to listen to have to be validated by a list or some made-up ranking? Who cares how you or another feels about an artist? Just listen to the shit or don't. To answer your question, if KMD were a top MC you wouldn't have to ask the question. It would already be known that he was.

He came about during a time before Hip-Hop had created enough market for there to be many stars at once that were all sufficiently funded (and high/inebriated) enough to produce legacy masterwork projects. By the time that came (1990+), he was looking like some Paco Jeans nigga.
Outside of LL who was basically the boy-king of rap, ion think anyone before Moe Dee gets put on those lists either despite guys like Melle Mel writing the formula that the second wave of mainstream rappers like LL and KMD would benefit from.
Yet dudes that came directly after like Rakim or Big Daddy Kane are standards.
