Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre and record producer Jimmy Iovine donated $70 million to the University of Southern California (USC) in order to form a new program called USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. This program is for students who are interested in computer science and engineering, the arts, marketing, audio and visual design, and business entrepreneurship. The purpose of this program is to shape the minds of young students who challenge the conventional ways of industry and art.
 
Kanye West

Even though Kanye West receives a lot of negative attention for his less than favorable antics, he has also had a positive impact in the community by giving back through the Dr. Donda West Foundation. The foundation, which he named after his mother, helps to prevent kids from dropping out of school across America.Through the Loop Dreams, a music production program within the Dr. Donda West Foundation, students study historical roots and hip hop culture through an interactive curriculum. Through this program students also receive academic support so that they can stay on the right path for graduation.
 
Big Sean

Through the Sean Anderson Foundation, Big Sean is able to help with the safety, health, and education of the youth living in Detroit and in disadvantaged communities throughout America. Because of his foundation, Big Sean has donated to the Salvation Army's "Coats for Kids Drive." He also donated $7,500 to the Detroit public school system to provide dress code-appropriate school clothing to students who are unable to afford it. In addition to this, Big Sean has donated Thanksgiving meals to many families, and during the Christmas holiday he gives back to the community with 12 Days of Christmas Guap Giveaway.
 
Fabolous

In 2011, Fabolous partnered with Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees and Ahmad Bradshaw of the New York Jets to host the first annual Three Kings Coat Drive. Through this drive, winter coats and clothing were donated and given out to people living in New York who could not afford to buy coats during the winter season
 
Meek Mill

In 2011, Meek Mill teemed up with Reebok to donate basketball shoes and gear to Strawberry Mansion High School in Philadelphia. When the school suffered from budget cuts, the basketball programs suffered, so Meek Mill made a donation to his alma mater to help them with their deficit.
 
The Game

The Game established the Robin Hood Project in an effort to provide money to people in need all over the world. He started off this project by agreeing to give $1 million of his own money to people in need. If he sees someone in need and is touched by their story, The Game donates some of his money to them.
 
Ludacris

Rapper Ludacris started The Ludacris Foundation so that he could give back to under-served youth and inner city communities. Through The Ludacris Foundation, LudaCares was started in the Hollywood Homes, Herndon, and Bankhead communities in Atlanta and in Chicago, Miami, and New York City as well. Through this program, Ludacris and LudaCares have been able to give food to families during Thanksgiving, give performances to the military, visit hospitals, make dreams come true though the Make A Wish Foundation, and host an annual Christmas party for children in need
 
Missy Elliott

Missy Elliott is another rapper who gives back. She has been involved in many campaigns that are aimed at raising money for AIDS research. Missy Elliott was the first hip hop artist to perform at the all-female tour festival called Lilith Fair. At this festival millions of dollars were raised for AIDS and breast cancer research. Together with supermodel Iman, Missy has also come out with a lipstick called "Misdemeanor Lipstick." Money raised from the lipstick sales go to Break the Cycle, a nonprofit with the goal of ending domestic violence in young individuals.
 
J. Cole

In 2011, J. Cole started The Dreamville Foundation in order to empower disadvantaged youth from his hometown, Fayetteville, North Carolina. Through this foundation, the youth are encouraged to find a dream, believe in it, and achieve it. Such programs as The Back to School Giveaway, the Dreamville Foundation X DTLR Young Men's Book Club, the Nobody's Perfect Writing Contest and Mother's Day Brunch, and the Annual Dreamville Weekend are set up so that the youth of Fayetteville can achieve success.
 
Rick Ross

Rick Ross purchased Evander Holyfield's Georgia estate, and has big charitable plans in mind for this multi-million dollar home. Ross plans on opening up certain features of the 235-acre, 109-room mansion to inner-city youth. He will open up the Olympic-sized swimming pool, horse stable, and baseball field to the kids. By letting the youngsters into his lavish estate, the children will be temporarily taken out of their element while also having the opportunity for positive influences to be introduced into their lives. In addition to this most recent charitable act, Rick Ross also hosts an annual Christmas Toy and Food Giveaway in his hometown of Miami
 
Sean Combs

While attending an event for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) on October 3, 2013, Diddy donated $250,000to the program, which helps to educate inner city kids who have entrepreneurship aspirations. In 2011, Diddy donated $60,000 to the Harlem Boys and Girls Club, which allowed for this division of the Boys and Girls Club to remain open. And back in 2003, Diddy ran the New York City Marathon and raised $2 million, which he donated to two children's charities and to New York City public schools.
 
Lil' Kim

Lil' Kim created the Lil' Kim Cares Foundation to give back to multiple important causes. Through this foundation, she raises awareness, funds, and resources for programs that help with homelessness, transitional living, violence against women, child neglect, and HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
