[The question]

So yo..when I was 15, I was dating this woman. She had a kid. One time, she sent me to pick up her kid from school. I didn’t know nothing bout that shit. I went straight in and asked for the kid. They asked me who I was and I told them, I was the kids mom’s boyfriend.

Of course they didn’t give me the kid, so I get back to her spot and told her what happened. She gets freaked out and asked why I told the people what I told them. Back then I didn’t get what the big deal was.

Say that to say, my kid is 16. 16 year olds look like children still.

They got a whole African festival in Korea that is super popular. I don't think Koreans are super anti-black, but from what I've heard they also aren't the most welcoming towards Black people. So them having a festival like that just strikes me as weird.

Yeah, technical she falls into that category. She's 1/8 and by the whole one drop rule, she'd just be considered black especially in a place like Mississippi. The only thing I think is weird is the fact that they clearly wanted the character to be seen as someone who was passing but had clear signs of black heritage. Then they picked an actress that looked like an everyday average white girl. There weren't any actress that had that look and didn't need makeup, tan, or lighting to pull it off?
