When you look at shows that were made around the time of the Nokia phone and went long enough to get to the start of the iPhones and ever longer.
You see that transition where they had to find reasons to explain to the audience why the character didn’t just call someone for help, or call the person they needed to speak to.
They’d happen to fall and break their phones and then be like, “damn it’s smashed, guess we’re gonna have to do this without them”
Or they were written into a bunker or basement to give a reason why there’s no service. A bunch of shows had episodes out in the woods to give a reason why there was no cell service.
Shits kinda funny to watch those shows now. When they have to make a reason why people don’t just use tech to fix a problem tech could fix.
That’s like, Barry Allen can vibrate a such a high speed that he can phase through walls but a regular human being with a freeze ray is somehow a formidable opponent.
Captain Cold…mufucka just ran so fast a couple weeks ago that he went back in time but Captain Cold got the best of him.
