I work two programs at my job, one for DHS and the other for DOD. Last week, the DOD office learned they were going to get their budget cut. We didn't really know what that was going to mean for our company. We knew that office would be downsized and that would mean some people at our company would have to be let go.

So today, the assistant director for the DOD task came to me and was like "I need you got go work full-time on that DHS task." I was like "Ok, I get it. You need anything from me?" He said "No, I may be jumping the gun here, but you being able to go do something else is good enough. That's one less person I'm going to have to fire."

Something told me to check my email just now. They said they cancelled that whole contract for our company. That means that whole division. I'm feeling sick right now. I ain't even close to anyone at work like that, but I don't want to go into tomorrow. It's hard enough seeing one person get fired. I ain't trying to go in and see 200+ people catch a pink slip.
