I get why some people are so overwhelmingly upset with “diverse and or woke” characters in some stuff. Like, they are there specifically to be different. I get it.

Because I recently have stop interacting with content that is specifically the old white man saves the world narrative.

Like, I’m sure Reacher is a good show, but that’s their “woke”. Like; it’s some guy that is appealing misogynist but also is a friend to feminism and diversity.

He travels the US and stamps out injustice that only he can deal with. Hes never out classed, unaware, or unprepared. And he’s always best friends with a patriotic person of color, who he sees as just another American.

Imnnot talking about reacher, I’m talking about Walker Texas ranger, I mean , in the heat of the night, I mean lethal weapon, I mean , mission impossible , nah I mean men in black, nah I’m sorry, I mean Rocky

You ever talked to older people and hear them talk about how hard it was for them growing up. They'll be like "my parents both worked all the time, and we still barely had food to eat. Some how me an my 7 brothers and sisters made it though."

Every time I hear these stories, I want to tell them that their lives might have been easier if their dumbass parents stopped at 2 kids instead of trying to produce a basketball team.

Different times. The belief system back then was that the more children you had, the better off you would be.

Check out this website

It pretty much breaks down all the tropes in different TV shows and movies and essentially points out how almost nothing is really that original

No, I misspelled it.

Trope

It's like a common theme.

What you described was the trope of a character used in fiction and the reason for said trope

so…so tv shows and movies are actively doing this, but why?

Thanks for educating me
Years ago I used to spend a lotta time on TV tropes website to figure out which tropes I identify with more and find interesting
.. And it helped me pick out what shows I wanted to watch next.

It helps you learn more about what you like and what demographic you fit in.

It also helps you look inwardly, bcuz we actually as people display a lotta those tropes.

Check the site out. It's amazing finding out how many of your favorite characters share the same tropes as you do personally

It's all about self discovery imo

Im just finding out that in 2014, Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Graham had a sitcom show together. I absolutely don’t remember this shit in any way shape or form. I’ve never even heard it referenced

No way any of you have ever seen this
