I’m attempting to get IT certifications at 40

Yea man In our condo and townhouse there’s staff to fix and update shit

But now that niggas relocated to a single family home I’m finding myself paying other ppl to do a lot of work around here and mostly them ppl not black

One of my mantras in life is never pay someone to do some shit you can do yourself so I figured instead of spending thousand paying other ppl to do shit I might as well get certified and ado it myself

Most men simply do not have the time to dedicate to self teach themselves to a proficient level to not fuck up their shit altogether

I'ma huge diy dude and plumbing and electrical scare the shit out of me cause I don't wanna fuck something up only to turn around and have to pay more to get it fixed. The age of the diy has been the gift and the curse.

I look at too much shit that diy people have done that isn't to code and it compromises the integrity of their home. This doesn't apply to everyone ofc but some people simply have more money than time

Word but... we have youtube! As a recent homeowner I'm so thankful that it's just that easy to learn from people willing to share their knowledge. With that said... I'll do some electrical stuff but once we get to the breaker... I'm calling somebody. I'm not trying to turn myself into gyro meat.

And yeah I feel you on that last part. My house is from the 50s and there were clearly 3 generations of dudes that were like "fuck it" and most of my problems are undoing the shit they did but I respect the hustle.
