Once you take them out of that habitat, they realize there is not much use for him. He's not their King in captivity.

I have never seen wild female lions attack their ALPHA, ever. Maybe I missed that documentary.
Maybe this is not their alpha, but then again like I stated technically there is no alpha while in captivity.
