It is pretty much dead. Superman and Lois is the only show of this current universe that's been renewed. Arrow, Legends, Supergirl were all canceled and Flash final season is next year.

It’s always been a cw show. They brought it to HBO max for a limited time season 1 then took it off until the end of the season. I think you might have this confused with Stargirl which started on that DC universe app season one then was switched to cw when the app died for season 2.

I think that first season was on the DC Universe app similar to swamp thing and Titans which is why the production value was waaaay better than CW.
I specifically remember they cut some stuff out that aired on DC Universe for it to air on the CW
