My parents got theirs connected to the gas line in their house.
Power goes out for like 2 secs before it kicks on. They don't have to worry about going to the gas station at all

Still gas in the lines. Only a short term solution. His parents would have to visit a gas station eventually if the power was out long enough. And even that solution is very finite cause most gas stations now use electric pumps.
