I don't think she expecting some sort of traditional father/daughter relationship because that ship has sailed, but you can't say you want a relationship and then be inconsistent.

Yes, you can. People do it all the time. Her problem is she probably wants a father that she can count on to be there whenever she wants or needs. Unfortunately, that's just not they kinda guy Rodman is. It's her right to say she doesn't want that kind of father, but that doesn't mean he isn't genuinely trying.
