1. Steph Curry is a star, but he's not on the level of Michael Jordan

2. MJ is the self proclaimed King of Pop, he didn't claim to be the King of R&B

3. Dear Mama is one of Hip Hop's most recognizable songs by one of Hip Hop's most recognizable icons

4. Michael Jordan's sneakers make him a superstar. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson are also superstars they were the first to get sneaker endorsements. Also Shaq, he does a lot of commercials.

LeBron is the closest thing to Mike as far as superstardom, but just because you're not on Mikes level or Magic/Bird's level doesn't mean your not a superstar. At the point youve been one of the faces of the league for a decade or for a great length of time you should be considered a superstar.

No, not really. Lebron is not the world wide star that MJ, Kobe, Shaq were. Like even in America alone we've seen the NBA ratings fall off with him at the helm.

Not Bron's fault. He's the only one of his kind aside from MAYBE Steph. The aforementioned are bigger stars, but they had other stars around them. AI, Carter, Barkley, Rodman, T Mac, Penny, etc. were not as successful as them but they were icons in their own right. Yao Ming was mid at best but he was hugely popular. I haven't watched basketball since 2014... I get stuck naming players after Giannis, KD, Westbrook, and maybe 5 others. That's not good for bringing casuals to your TV product.

Got dammit y'all

This why I don't like having "headline" conversations.

Most of y'all just read words with no context. Read in which I made that remark which was tongue in cheek.

So let me set the record straight.
I like both songs. Dear Mama has more impact and is a beautiful song.

Hey Mama is a song I personally relate to more from that aspect of a mom dedication song

Some of y'all dudes are a few sandwiches short of a picnic

Kanye spiraling after his mom dying makes the song more potent

Hey Mama >> a song that only gets played on Mother’s Day

Lost in this is the fact dudes are saying hey Mama is the weakest song on LR while crack music sitting right there unscathed

And on what regular ass occasion are you hearing Hey Mama jumpin in the streets of where ever you live???
It’s a decent introspective song from a classic album from the best rap artist of this century

Let’s not act like niggas don’t listen to this

Let’s respect Yeezus this Easter
