How yall feel about this? Personally, it should of been obvious they wouldn't of clapped to this and would of stripped her win. But the crazy part for me is the double down. Makes me think it was definitely the fathers dumb ass idea.

Im sure it's at least partially racially motivated but it was a silly thing to do and made it easy for them to do her dirty. And yeah clearly the dad's dumb idea. Highschoolers don't need to do that extra shit. That's for when you're on a big stage on TV and shit.
 
Strip her of her title that’s excessive just have her apologize and let that be the learning lesson.

Father had his part in it and as an adult should have known better.

How is it racially motivated? I think they would of did that to a white girl if she sprayed an extinguisher to celebrate at a highschool track meet.

Idk if its excessive since this is high school and they have clear rules about that goofy stuff. As for the "just have her apologize", idk if that was even an option for them. Seems like they thought the officials should apologize to them and give her back her title

During that interview they made it clear they thought they did nothing wrong. The father said "When she blew the fire extinguisher, the opponents were gone, this was our moment of celebration and the officials made it about them. The crowd loved it, the booth loved it. Just those few guys in jackets took offense, they didn't like it & made a decision off emotion".

They definitely arnt gunna reverse it after saying that. Dude spoke like the crowd makes the rules & this isnt high school. IMO shes gunna have it tough making it as an athlete if her father keeps feeding her nonsense advise.

I highly doubt if it was a white girl we'd be here but thats peace.
 
Idk what the correct punishment should be but I don’t believe it needed to come down to taking her title away for an excessive celebration. She is in HS so I assume ISS/detection etc could have been an option as well but it starts with at least an apology. The doubling down doesn’t always work in every situation.. this might be one of them. Apologize and admit you were excited and in the moment and should have celebrated in another way. Then maybe the outcome might be different.
