'Tradition' is one of the most dangerous things in America, its an conservatives lifeblood. From the church, to child rearing, to politics, to food. Once a person is told that this is the way it was and should be, you'll find them more docile and easier to manage which is why most independent thinkers have been shut down or alienated in the course of history
OP is a very far reaching subject but for me, I look no further than tradition and *most* ppl naturally being inclined to follow
