Nah, it’s probably true that black people in general hold more student debt. White people are typically more educated on scholarship sources and are subsidized by parents more. So they incur less debt for college than black people.

And that $125k threshold is also hurting black people more because getting to that income level usually requires advanced degrees and that much more debt.

The actual numbers I don’t know but the gap is real.

I agree there’s probably a gap but $40K on average? That’s cap

I also think you’re underestimating the number of not well off whites who go to college
