Yeah, Josh really made a name for himself. Went the Colby Covington route. Made up a character and the second he started getting to a press conference thats all the press would write about is him and his antics. Its an annoying character, but on the flip side, the HW division is so damn shallow that he got into the rankings quick as fuck. Hes not that technically great of a fighter, but he knows how to make the event about him and has been fortunate to not run into a HW that can really stand with him yet besides Blaydes. I hoped Derrick Lewis was going to catch him, but Derrick is 40+ Years old and this is most likely going to be his last year fighting in the UFC despite being a fan favorite.
I'd love seeing Hokit try a fight with another top 5 contender that is actually a technical fighter and not someone who just swings and hopes for a connection. Hokit vs Waldo Cortez Acosta would be a great fight. Both are relatively new HW contenders and are on win streaks. Sergie Pavolich or however its spelled would be a good competition.
Hell, tbh Hokit vs HW Alex Pereira would be a great fight. Theres already bad blood between the two of them. It'd give Hokit a chance to prove himself against a more technical fighter and it would also be a great way for poatan to adapt a bit more to fighting at Heavyweight.
Honestly its kind of wild that for his very first HW fight poatan took on Gane. Gane is a natural HW that moves like a 185 fighter. Gane and Aspinal are the quickest most agile HW in the division!
