Even the most popular fighters don't get paid shit compared to boxers. They do those boxing exhibition fights and get paid more than anything

I think the biggest thing people are hoping for is better cards

Me personally maybe even a better system in place where the champs fight the #1 contenders and not someone that's popular and ranked like 5-10
I agree. Especially if there's an interim belt involved too. There should never be another moment of the interim champ defending his belt while the champ does a legacy fight (stipe vs jones). Also unless the champ has recently defeated the number 1, then he definitely should fight them immediately before something happens and theres injuries like the khabib vs Ferguson issue. So dumb when they have the champ fight the #6 guy out of nowhere when they've got 3 people in the top 5 that could have been chosen. Only time I would find it acceptable is if there is some sort of history between the two fighters. Because then it would be a money fight. Example: when pereira fought adesanya for the MW belt. Pretty sure he beat Strickland and took the #6 spot then got a title shot after that. Because of the history they let him jump ahead and it was worth it at that time. He proved he was top 5 material and they struck while the iron was hot.

Kind of the same with topuria and pimblett. Topuria should probably fight gaetje or Arman next, but he hates pimblett and pimblett hates him. Pimblett I think has shown he can hang with the top 5 guys even though hes only at #6 or 7. I wouldn't be mad if that was topurias next defense, but gaetje is more deserving of the fight right now as it will be his last title shot before retirement. Im happy with either fight. Fuck Arman though, he can go to hell.

Im so stoked for Islam vs jdm

Same. I hope Islam wins, I'm a fan of Islam and Khabib.

Imo JDM is the toughest and most difficult test Islam has encountered. None of Islam's opponents were as good as JDM standing up.

There are a lot of advantages going for JDM than Islam in this fight. JDM has far superior striking, plus a 4 inch reach advantage, high IQ, Islam is coming up a weight class which is also much harder to do, stylistically JDM matches up well. Islam traditionally has had issues with tall rangy strikers who use distance well and JDM has that in spades. Can Islam's wrestling make the difference and win the fight? I guess we'll find out.

If Islam pulls this off and becomes a double champ, the narrative and discussion around Islam changes, and we have to start having GOAT conversations. If he beats JDM, then Islam can definitely beat Topuria.

I mean Paddy has won what? 7 straight fights in spectacular fashion? I think Paddy deserves it. I also think Topuria would rather Paddy because it's an easy fight and being that he's in a new weight class it's "target practice."

Gaethje is amazing but lacks IQ so these high level fighters steamroll him. Arman would be interesting, I think the idea is that his grappling would be too much but imo I think Topuria would beat him too.

Its most definitely going to be islam's biggest challenge thus far. Hes much bigger than all previous opponents islam has had in literally every way. Height, reach, weight, power. Everything. I've heard DC say that Islam regularly wrestles with Light Heavyweights when hes outside of camp so I think he will be prepared for the wrestling a bigger guy, but that doesnt mean JDM will be easy to take down. Belal tried to stand a majority of their fight for some reason ( i think it was to show people hes not a boring wrestling only type of fighter, but that backfired on him.) but the few times he tried to take down JDM they were stuffed if i remember correctly. As long as JDM can keep the fight on the feet, I think he will have a major advantage. Thats not to say Islam isnt great on the feet though, hes very good on his feet. Its just a bigger risk in this fight with JDM than previous fights.

Its just exciting to think about. Either way it goes. If Islam wins, hes a double champ, accomplishes more than Khabib did, and has a whole new division to rule over giving us some more dope match ups.

If JDM wins, he does what only one other person has been able to pull off with pure luck.

I love watching Gaethje fight, but I agree his IQ is lacking. Gets handled by a good technical striker and Topuria's got the best boxing ive seen in MMA in a long time. The power is just insane as well. Every fight Gaethje is in he makes it a brawl. he has a hell of a chin, but hes always taking shots and Topuria is somebody hes not going to want to take shots from. Dude has knocked out the reigning FW GOAT's and knocked out a LW GOAT like it was nothing.

I used to be a Paddy hater as most of his wins werent against anyone that impressive but what he did to Chandler was impressive as fuck. Everyone argues "But chandler lost most of his UFC Fights". Chandler has lost to Porier, Gaethje, Oliveria x2, and someone else i may be forgetting. The difference is with all of those fights, he made them absolute dog fights and Chandler had moments in all of those fights where he could have won had things gone slightly different. Paddy though, Paddy dominated chandler from the very beginning and we havent seen anyone do that to him. Made the shit look easy too.

I think with either one Gathje or Pimblett, Topuria will make easy work of them. I think you're right though, Paddy may be deserving of it more than Gaethje right now. The only reason Gaethje is a possibility is because Arman fucked himself out as the contender by pulling out the day before his match with Islam. He claims injury but theres reports that he wasnt going to make weight so he pulled the day of weigh ins. Because of this, I think he should fight someone in the top 5 before his title shot. Gaethje last beat Fizaev in a decision which isnt a bad win, but its not as impressive as 7 straight and the last couple being huge finishes from pimblett. I think because of Pimbletts finishes and his beef with Topuria he should get the title shot right now. Set up Arman vs Gaethje for the #1 contender fight.

Yall heard of or been following this gable steveson guy? He's 25 years old big star wrestler and has been doing MMA the last couple years. Been dominating in mma and misfits boxing and is trying to get into the ufc. Dude is about to be a huge problem when he makes it. Might be the next heavyweight star.

Goddamn I just looked over the main card again for this weekend and this is a stacked card! Every fight on the main card has potential to be fire af.

Brady vs morales should be dope as hell. Edward's vs prates has a lot of potential. Darius vs saint Denis is the weakest match up on the card, but that would be a main event on fight night or ufc Vegas event.

Funny they got Tracy Cortez in these ads. Not a major fighter, just the sexiest one after Dern. Wonder why they dont push Dern and Schevchenko like that even a little bit.
