I thought that was this weekend for the entire weekIm so stoked for Islam vs jdm
I somehow manage to do that shit for every major numbered event. Pisses me off lmao.I thought that was this weekend for the entire week
Went to check the time again in case it was the early one or late one and noticed it's actually next weekeend lol
I thought Dana said ppv is ending once they move to paramount?I somehow manage to do that shit for every major numbered event. Pisses me off lmao.
Hope they get rid of the ppv model once the paramount deal kicks in. I doubt they will, but would be dope to just look forward to logging in every Saturday and watching fights.
Wonder how all that money will effect the non numbered cards. Like the UFC vegas and UFC fight night events. I imagine they can put some good contender fights in those cards instead of one dope contender match every once in a blue moon.
I mean they technically do have contender matches on all those cards already but its usually the number 10 guy vs the number 7 guy in whateber weight class, but would be dope if they had #1 contender matches type shit on the lesser cards then keep all 5-6 matches of a main card numbered event as title fights and major contender fights.
Also hope that money goes to increasing bonuses. Give fighters a bigger incentive to make it an exciting fight.
I've seen reports saying the PPV model is over but ive seen Dana do press conferences saying that it's not totally going away. He said that there are fights that are so big that that would still go on PPV. Im guessing it'll probably be for events like the Whitehouse event where they dont have a lot of tickets to sell for the venue. I wouldn't put it passed him to use it for other events too though.I thought Dana said ppv is ending once they move to paramount?
I think he said that it'll be less fights per month but I think he alluded to it being either better quality or bigger cards. Something like that. I'd have to find the video
That'll be interesting. While the paramount deal happened under him.. the fighters have been severely underpaid. I don't think they get a say in it but it's interestingI've seen reports saying the PPV model is over but ive seen Dana do press conferences saying that it's not totally going away. Dana's contract is over in the next year or two though. Will be interesting to see not only who will take over but how they will change the operation as well.
Absolutely they've been under paid. They dont get health benefits unless they are contracted to an upcoming fight as well. Youd think they'd have year round health insurance. Hopefully with this kind of money there will be pay and health improvements, but who knows. Ufc is already above and beyond the most lucrative mma company and they dont offer much to fighters. That'll be interesting. Even the most popular fighters don't get paid shit compared to boxers. They do those boxing exhibition fights and get paid more than anythingAbsolutely they've been under paid. I follow Demetrius Johnson (mighty mouse) on social media and he said he made more money doing his podcast and streaming video games in the first year than he ever did in the ufc of ONE Fc. And he was the 125 champ with 12 title defenses. Granted thats not a super popular division and hes not a "character", but hes one of the most skilled fighters and a reigning champion and never got paid a million dollars for a fight with the ufc. Think he said the most he made for a fight was in the 300k range
