I was rooting for chimaev to win, and with impressive as that was, I hope every fight ain't gonna be like that in the future. I respect it but goddammit make it a little more exciting

This figjt i was wondering why him vs burns was mostly on the feet, but then I realized burns is a champion jiu jitsu fighter and has Hella ground defense and khamzat couldn't figure it out

Dana White’s Contender Series 78 takes place on Tuesday, August 19, at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The offshore sportsbooks recently opened up the betting odds for the event, and MMAOB staff writer Adam Martin looks at the opening odds below.

Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Dana White’s Contender Series 78:
  • Headlining this week’s DWCS card is a featherweight bout between Jose Delano and Manuel Exposito. Delano is coming off three straight wins in LFA, including his last two wins coming by way of knockout. He had a great run in LFA overall, going 6-1 in the promotion. As for Exposito, he is coming off three straight wins. Just based on the fact that Delano has fought much better competition and has fought for a superior promotion in LFA, you have to lean toward his way in this fight. But it is Contender Series, and upsets happen on every card.
  • Also on this Contender Series card is a middleweight bout between Brandon Holmes and Cam Rowston. Holmes is a Fury FC and CFFC veteran who is a perfect 5-0 so far in his MMA career since he made his professional debut in December 2023. Less than two years later, he is in Contender Series and on the doorstep of gaining a UFC contract. As for Rowston, he is coming off three straight wins on the Australian regional circuit. Before that, he had fought on Contender Series in August 2024, where he lost a decision to current UFC fighter Torrez Finney. Although Rowston has more experience than Holmes, you have to lean toward the younger prospect to win this DWCS fight
