The Official MCU Thread

Pretty much when Captain Marvel finishes it’s theatrical run they’ll put it directly on their streaming service.

How will this affect the box office number? I can't imagine them sacrificing that without some sort of compensation.
It will still have its full box office run. Folks might just wait for the stream service to drop it though, but a big piece of what makes these movies so dope is the theater experience so I dont think it will effect box office numbers too much. May effect blu ray/dvd sales a bit, but they will be making that money back monthly easily. All kinds of parents will probably get that streaming service since its kid friendly.

I wonder if that Disney stream site will have all the little company films that Disney owns on there too.. We know Marvel and Star Wars will be on there, but what about FOX? FOX has a ton of movies/tv shows that are not kid friendly.

What compensation? It's their own streaming service.

When i saw "direct to you" I perceived it as, it would bypass theaters and come straight to the streaming service upon release. So the question stemmed from wondering how would they recoup the box office loss. Btw I didn't watch the vid and asked my question based off my own high assumptions.
