The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

I’m trying to figure out how that doesn’t put any blame on Biden? He is the president...Wasn’t it him and Kamala some of the first saying they wouldn’t take any vaccine and they couldn’t trust the vaccine?

Buuuutttt...they already took the the vaccine. A LOT of people have said they wasn't takin the vaccine. But ended up taking it eventually. ESPECIALLY the politicians on BOTH sides.

Again ok at the states Marc posted. These are the same states whom their politicians, and the people stated numerous times, they weren't taking the vaccine.

So what EXACTLY are you wanting him to do? Do you want him enact a national mandatory vaccination protocol? A protocol where the government "forces" those people to take the vaccine? Wonder how well that will go? So what else?

Handout
A conservative radio host in Tennessee, who repeatedly spread misinformation about coronavirus and mocked vaccines but changed his tune after falling seriously ill, was still “fighting for his life” on Saturday, weeks after contracting the virus.
Phil Valentine, who hosts a talk radio show on 99.7 WWTN-FM in Nashville, is hospitalized and is receiving supplemental oxygen while in critical care battling COVID pneumonia, his family said in a statement Friday.
“They say he is still not getting well.. please pray for me,” his wife, Susan, told the station on Saturday morning, according to a tweet. “I am at a breaking point.”
On Saturday afternoon, Julia Campbell Shirley declined to comment on her son-in-law’s condition before hurriedly telling The Daily Beast: “I certainly think people should be vaccinated.”
Morning Update on Phil: Susan (his wife) asks for prayers "They say he is still not getting well.. please pray for me. I am at a breaking point." We continue to lift up our brother in prayers & ask that you do the same. Your kindness and support is overwhelming and we thank you pic.twitter.com/GGXZI0MHD4

Valentine had repeatedly downplayed COVID-19 and dismissed guidance from health officials about the seriousness of the virus and the importance of getting vaccinated.
In a blog post in December, days after doses of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine was first authorized for emergency use in the United States, Valentine said he was simply following the logic in deciding not to get vaccinated.
“I’m not an anti-vaxxer,” he wrote. “I’m just using common sense. What are my odds of getting Covid? They’re pretty low. What are my odds of dying from Covid if I do get it? Probably way less than 1 percent. I’m doing what everyone should do and that’s my own personal health risk assessment. If you have underlying health issues, you probably need to get the vaccine. If you’re not at high risk of dying from Covid then you’re probably safer not getting it.”
After confirming rumors of his diagnosis on July 11, Valentine was initially well enough to report to listeners about his condition.
“I think I’m on the other side of it,” he said of the virus on one occasion, according to WIAT, while describing painful coughing, congestion, and fatigue.
“I’m certainly moving forward, it appears, but not in a straight line,” he added.
Valentine defended his decision not to get vaccinated as he began wrestling with the virus, insisting that he had thought the disease wouldn’t kill him.
Before he was hospitalized, Valentine also announced on air that he was “taking the vitamin D like crazy” and had found a doctor who agreed to prescribe ivermectin. The drug, often used to treat parasites in animals, has been touted in right-wing media circles as a promising COVID treatment but the Food and Drug Administration has cautioned against its use for COVID-19.
Demon Sperm Doc’s Pals Launch Twisted New Crusade to Stop Vaccines
But in the days that followed, Valentine’s family shared with the radio station that his battle against the virus had become more dire and he was being hospitalized in critical care.
His brother, Mark Valentine, posted an impassioned message to Facebook on Wednesday, suggesting that Valentine’s fight for his life “has persuaded me to go get vaccinated when I was previously not inclined to do so.”
“Having seen this up close and personal I'd encourage ALL of you to put politics and other concerns aside and get it,” he added, noting that he wouldn’t wish his brother’s condition on his worst enemies.
A day later, during an appearance on WWTN-FM in Nashville, Mark Valentine said his brother was regretful that he wasn’t a more vocal advocate for getting vaccinated.
“For those listening, I know if he were able to tell you this, he would tell you, ‘Go get vaccinated. Quit worrying about the politics. Quit worrying about all the conspiracy theories,” he said.
Mark Valentine insisted that while his brother had not been anti-vax, “he got this one wrong.”
Just last month, Valentine even wrote and performed a parody song of the Beatles’ song “Taxman,” called “Vaxman” in which he appeared to mock vaccines.
“Let me tell you how it will be,” he sang, “and I don’t care if you agree, ‘Cause I’m the Vaxman, yeah I’m the Vaxman. If you don’t like me coming round, be thankful I don’t hold you down.”
Tennessee continues to rank among the lowest in the country for vaccination rates even as cases are rising largely from the highly contagious Delta variant.

I'm sorry. People like them...I have no sympathy for.

This what happens when you think a fuccin virus gives a damn whether you believe it exist or not. Or whether it gives a damn what political party you side with.

I want him to take responsibility the same way I wanted Trump to do. 100% guarantee if Trump was still the president we’d be pissed they ain’t shutting down the country and issuing checks. They talking about 4000 people a day about to die until mid October. Joe Biden & Kamala Harris said the same exact thing these republicans said. They didn’t trust it and they wouldn’t take it. They said it was rushed and everything else. Now they get to call unvaccinated people crazy and Trump supporters. Huh? After THEY played up the anti vaccine bullshit. It’s crazy. All these reports are saying black and brown people are the ones not getting vaccinated. Who did they vote for? Trump? I’m only pointing this shit out to show the politics being played. I’m fully vaccinated. Idgaf who is and who isn’t.

After they stated openly they didn’t trust it. After saying they were rushing and everything else people are saying NOW.

Take responsibility and DO WHAT bruh? Lol. You're still stuck on the previous shyt they said...but ignoring the fact that they...and millions of other people...had the same exact feelings as them. I was one of them. But just like them and the millions of others...we wised up. Got vaccinated.

B/c taking responsibility doesn't get folks vaccinated. Again...what exactly do you want him to do? What procedures do you want him to enact to get those folks vaccinated? So yes...I don't feel sympathy for people who STILL put politics...conspiracy beliefs...put out false info...and they end up gettin the virus. B/c they are the main ones literally BEGGING nurses to give them the vaccines, right b4 they're placed on ventilators. That's fact.

Over 600k people lost their lives behind this shyt. Stop focusing on the past shyt they said, and start offering solutions.

Oh yeah...the reason why folks blame Trump...its b/c he could've prevented this outbreak...and aint did shyt about it. The ONLY he cared about was the election. Fact.

You want someone to blame...blame him and his party for spreading the lies. Blame the ones who continue to make excuses, and put others in danger. All b/c of pride...lies...conspiracies...or overall ignorance. These fucc azzz poliTRICKans telling folks not to get the vaccine, but then secretly gettin it behind closed doors. I get you not a Biden fan, but common sense is common sense.

At this point, now that the vaccine is available, if people catch it that’s on them. No more lockdowns, no more stimulus (I’ll gladly take it if they give it though), no more mask mandates.

Everyone has to do their own risk assessment and live with their choices.

And by the way, Kamala and others said they wouldn’t trust it if it was only Trump and his administration that said to trust it. She said if credible people in the scientific community said it was safe she’d get it.

And that was last year when she said all of that so I don’t know why that even matters now unless you’re just trying to two sides the anti vax argument.

The education system has failed us.

You got a post about the vaccine giving autism to adults...really now... I hope yall unvaxxed niggas die.

I used to be skeptical until they gave it to all the people in power first. And Ive been vaccinated for 90 days now and I never had any ill side effects. I was more worried about all the swine/ bird flu vaccines the army made me take back in day over this one.

Same thing I was thinking when I first saw it.

'Might as well say it's gonna be 2020 all over again.

It's actually gonna be worse though, because we're not going into lockdown again.

Simply because we can't afford to.

Main push for the vaccine is getting people back to work again.........so they can start paying taxes again............in order to generate enough tax revenue to justify other countries continuing to buy our treasury bills and fund our expenses.

Also, to make sure we have enough money to pay our interest payments to those respective countries.

If we ever miss a payment....................

There exist three groups: The mindless sheep (who obey authority and believes everything the news tells them), the reasonable skeptics (folks who simply want to ask questions and is uncertain about shit unless sufficient evidence is presented), and the crazy fringe (flat earthers, anti-vaxxers). Most people are reasonable skeptics but will keep silent. They're afraid if they speak up that they will be grouped together with the crazies.

There are so many things about this pandemic which warrant skepticism:
  • Bill Gates's ties to the Wuhan lab
  • Bill Gates and the US government running a viral outbreak simulation before the actual pandemic started
  • Many CEOs quitting before the pandemic started
  • Many congressmen and senators selling off stocks before the pandemic started
  • Mask manufacturers not approved by the government being 'pushed to the side' (some mask being more effective than the government approved ones)
  • Pharmaceutical companies (who came up with their own vaccines) not owned by Gates 'pushed to the side'
  • An unproven/untested new type of vaccine conveniently rushed out to the public (meanwhile they have nothing for cancer/AIDS/HIV)
  • The fact that vaccines have to be tested for years before it's rolled out onto the public but they're urging us to inject this experimental crap into us anyway

And just for raising some legitimate concerns I will be called an anti-vaxxer anyway.

All legitimate concerns for sure. I relate those concerns more to corruption than something being wrong with the vaccine. And yes we do need to get to the bottom of all of that.

Now that 160 million people in the US have been vaccinated with no widely reported side effects, I think it’s safe. I wasn’t first in line, I waited a couple of months, but got it once enough people had it and weren’t falling ill. Science tells us that vaccine side effects typically happen within the first two weeks and possibly up to two months after so I was good at that point.

Plus all of the people dying are not vaccinated so it must work based on that too.

Also that they didn't push hard at all for preventative drugs and cheap alternative treatments which was necessary to roll out these vaccines without approval in the first place.
