The CDC estimated that about 177,000 Americans died during the 2017-2018 flu season, from either the flu itself or by complications of pneumonia. (The CDC never made a public announcement about this number, but you can count it yourself from data on its site, as I did in the chart below.) I agree with some of it being overstated, but I don’t think it’s a material number. Even if people die by an underlying health condition, it’s hard to say whether they would have died anyway without COVID. Considering it’s the only added variable, they attribute it to that. I think that’s fair.
I actually think it’s understated if you count the people that probably died from it early on and didn’t know they had it. Or people that never sought medical treatment or never got tested.
And the politicians are just stupid and arrogant. They never think the rules apply to them. That’s not COVID specific.
And I’m confused. In one post you say it’s a hoax, then another you post articles about people who reported how deadly it was getting killed. Can’t be a hoax if people getting killed for reporting how it’s serious.
