I was simply stating man United using academy players was what was done back then Vs city spending is normal now. Football is different and it shouldn't be used as a method to degrade city for playing to win

Actually if you check Utd were the top spenders at the time compared to the rest of the league. Just so happens the spine of the team were well coached academy players.

Utd were top spenders for many years. Also have a history of having top players.
