Lukaku needs to simply put out an IG post apologising to the Chelsea fans, manager, teammates etc.

Then he needs to get his head down and let his football do the talking, that's it and folks including Chelsea fans will move on

His scenario is different to aubamayeng in the fact that Chelsea literally just paid £100m for him and he's on big wages. Arsenal already got some good years and trophies out of their investment in Aubamayeng

So for Lukaku...
  • He can't go to any big teams in England any more having already played for Man U, City are gonna win the title without a striker, Liverpool will never take him and Spurs don't need him with Kane there and Arsenal want more youth and less older stars on big wages (eg ozil, Willian, aubamayeng situations)
  • Real Madrid are after Mbappe and Benzema is their boy,
  • Lewandowski ain't slowing up at Bayern,
  • Barca just bought Ferran Torres (who I've still yet to see get registered to play) and in any case can't afford him anyways,
  • lukaku interview stated that his love is for Inter only so would never go to Milan, Juve etc. Also Inter are top of the table so doesn't appear to be missing him anyways
  • That only leaves PSG as the major big European club to potentially join, and for some reason I don't see Messi and Neymar consigning on that transfer even if Mbappe leaves in the summer
Therefore he has no choice but to make it work for the rest of the season (at least) with Chelsea.

I was wondering what was the underlying motivation behind his outburst and the only thing that is making the most sense to me right now is that he wanted to show Inter fans his adoration of them; essentially the interview was an undying love letter to them.
I think most footballers secretly or even openly want a place to somewhat call "home" or be considered a legend after they retire. For lukaku perhaps Inter is the closest he feels he can have that hence why he's trying to pine for "his ex" the way he did, because at the end of the day Man United fans don't fuck with him and whilst theoretically Everton should given the fact that he's in their record books, they don't either.

Neymar is staying in Brazil until he can start practicing again.

Messi has COVID. Not feeling sick but he'll be back in France soon as he's negative.

We need to sell 100Ms worth of players before the end of the year.

I honestly believe Pogba will end up either PSG or Juve or Barca come summer with the French capital the overwhelming likelihood.
Mbappe going to Real will ease up salary and getting a decent top striker to replace Mbappe shouldn't be too hard (lacazette?)

Haaland or bust. Or Lewandoski. I still feel like there's a 10 percent chance Mbappé remains here but it's very unlikely, i know smh.

Pogba has been linked before. We'll see.
