Do other fanbases rate Essien as high as we do? There was a very brief period where he was one of the best midfielders in the world (if not the best) IMO, then his body gave up on him.

Everyone I speak to rates him highly but I think people remember his body giving up on him more than that period of him being amazing

Another one (like Yaya) who gets left out of best midfielder in the PL convos probably because he was African. He used to munch Gerrard in midfield but i constantly have to hear how Gerrard was elite, but that's a whole other discussion. I bet Kante ends up the same way as Essien and Yaya in 10, 15 years

Yea, I think Terem Moffi should be in the squad. Dude has not been as prolific this season as he was last season, maybe that’s their excuse.

Glad my boy is leaving. Playing time has been spotty so far this season (some of his injuries might have played a part).
