@toheeb27 sorry for the late response regarding Ajax, basically Ajax was being led by a shitty board, financially unstable etc untill the Cruijff revolution about 10 years or so ago. Cruijff came in and replaced the board - fam was a living legend here in Holland - the organisational structures and ex ballers were hired - from Michael Reiziger, Wim Jonk, to Bergkamp, Overmars, vd Sar etc, loads of them couldn't get allong for shit but Overmars is a brilliant technical director and several years ago Ajax build up an equity of 500 million...
Ajax improved their competive position in the market, instead of the salary caps of old they could offer competitive wages and even sign quality players like Tadic and Blind, in the old days players like Onana, Ziyech, Tagliflow(the Argentinian guy lol) would have left for clubs like sevilla but nowadays Ajax can offer similar or better wages...
Clubs like Basel I think have a similar approach...with financial stability you can keep a team together longer, problem of big clubs in the small leagues is that the small clubs from big leagues can buy their key players, it's impossible to keep talents in the eredivisie but Ajax seem to have found a way to slow the process.
So that 150 million they got for De Ligt and De Jong went mostly in to equity, to continue to build up the club.
Even our boy Bogarde is back at Ajax as a defence trainer.
