It would. But then I think about liverpool and that shit is worse. The squad is terrible, so finishing 5th and losing in the final makes sense. With the team liverpool has and their performances this season, it would be gut wrenching to finish without a trophy. There's no guarantee you will perform like this or get this far next season.

That 15+ years down the line, Arsenal and Man United wouldn't be challenging for the league as the top 2 teams in the country, but rather struggling to make top 4 and playing European football on a Thursday night....

If you look at history, success comes in cycles. It's Man City/Liverpools time now and Liverpool are now 29 years without the title.
Same as Europe, the Spanish have run tings the last 10 years to now having both European Cup finals involving all English clubs.
UTD will be back again. And if Arsenal spend money, they will too...
