Spurs got the most points and goal difference combined. Add to the fact that 3 out of last 4 games are at home and none against the big 6, plus the historic consistency of recent years, then they have to be favorites for the top 4.
Verdict: Spurs will see this through to the end and it will be their best season yet in years. Kept Poch, moved to new stadium, made it to semis of Champs League and yet another top 4 finish
United got the least points and goal difference. 3 out of last 4 games are at home which is a plus, however 2 are against the big 6, but the other 2 are against relegation fodder. Anything can happen in a derby so I don't want to rule out United here but City ain't fucking around so I can see this being an L for the boys in red. That makes the Chelsea game a "make or break" situation, and that's assuming Arsenal are getting the Wolves treatment, although since the FA Cup Wolves golden kit has been looking funny in the light.
Verdict: too many variables to consider and even if United do everything they need to (i.e. win all their games till the end of the season), it's still not in their hands and can still finish 6. Everything hinges unfortunately on Pogba and Lukaku/Rashford. If all 3 perform then they win at least 3 out of 4 games....but I don't think they will as too many got their eyes fixed on the exit sign so United stay 6!
Arsenal just outside top 4 by a point but got a game in hand which as long as they don't lose, puts them 4th so like Spurs, it's in their hands to lose. No big 6 which is plus but even worse is 3 out of last 4 games is away! Arsenal are not good away and I can see some unfortunate Ls on the horizon. It may actually be easier for Emery/Arsenal to win the Europa league than winning those away games. Valencia are tough to break down and have lost the same amount of games Liverpool & City have combined. They've also drawn more games than anyone else in La Liga, so Arsenal really have to batter them in the first leg by at least 3 goals to feel comfortable for making the final. Back to the Premier League, the good news is Wolves are not on form and Burnley have just secured Premier League football for next season so perhaps Arsenal can gain something there.
Verdict: It's in Arsenal's hands but I think they slip up along the way. With that being said, I had Arsenal for top 4 since the start of the season so I got to stick with them pipping it by the narrowest of margins (i.e. goal difference or last game drama).
Chelsea currently in last 4 spot but with the least games to play. you never know which Chelsea will show up but they have more premier league winners in their team than the other 3 so you can't rule them out. They have to beat United without question to have any chance otherwise it's Europa league as an option as I see them making the final most definitely.
Verdict: probably end in 5th but still qualify for Champs League either by winning it or Arsenal handing them the extra spot having won it themselves and finished 4th too
Either way, it's going to be a dramatic ending to the season!
