We need to get rid of like 6 players, promote Scotty Mac, Greenwood, Chong and then buy D. Rice and some leaders...

I dont wanna see DDG leave but he needs to buck up his ideas...

United fans, as Joe Budden would say "Pick a fucking side!"
Carragher or Neville...who do you agree with MORE?

'Get rid of them': Jamie Carragher claims Manchester United should sell Paul Pogba and David de Gea if they won't sign new contracts but Gary Neville insists 'world class' Frenchman should have team built around him

    • Man United must ditch stars if they fail to sign new deals, says Jamie Carragher
    • The former Liverpool player says it is dangerous for players to have the power
    • Carragher wants United to set the tone that no-one is bigger than the club
    • Gary Neville feels 'world class' Paul Pogba should have a team built around him
Jamie Carragher has urged Manchester United to take control and stop first-team players dictating behind the scenes.

The former Liverpool player feels goalkeeper David de Gea and midfielder Paul Pogba are two examples of players that are 'messing around' with new contracts as neither have yet commit their long-term future to the club.

United, considered one of the biggest clubs in the world, must start acting like it in the opinion of Carragher and that involves getting rid of players that hold too much power.

'When I was at Liverpool we weren't at a team at the top winning things, and you'd have a great player, Stevie Gerrard, Robbie Fowler Luis Suarez, and you think you can't lose these players he's everything, we're not doing great,' Carragher said on Sky Sports ahead of United's trip to Everton.

'I think about that with some of the United players,it feels like (David) De Gea's messing around with the contract and (Paul) Pogba's the same.

'(Anthony) Martial's just signed one right now, there is this idea that these players can't leave your club and it will all fall apart, it's Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world and you're not exactly pulling up trees with them anyway!'

United travelled to Goodison Park in a real fight to secure a top four finish with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side currently sat sixth and now outside bets to guarantee Champions League football for 2019-20.

The Norwegian boss has suggested a major overhaul is needed in the summer both in the playing staff and management set-up and Carragher feels the club must be decisive if they are to improve their fortunes.

'Just make a decision, be a big club, make a proper decision,' he added.

'Get someone else, its Manchester United. Never forget how big the club is and the power that they've got.

'Don't ever let these players dictate to the club about signing a contract, showing a poor attitude. Get rid of them.'

But fellow pundit Gary Neville disagreed with Carragher and says United should build a team around 'world class' Pogba if they want to push for titles once again.

Pogba has often been United's best player in games this season but struggles to add consistency to his game.

Neville said: 'Pogba has got the capability to carry Manchester United through this wilderness and I agree you can build a team around him, Rashford and De Gea.

'What Pogba has to decide and give the club clarity on is whether he wants to be that player who will get Manchester United back to the very top again. He has got the capability, he has got the ability to do it.

'He is the one player in the squad who I would say actually is world class, I know Graeme (Souness) and Jamie (Carragher) may disagree.

'I do believe he can play on the world stage, I don't think he played particularly well in Barcelona or against Paris Saint-Germain in the first game to be honest with you, but he looks distracted a little bit.

'His agent's always going on at him about getting away, the rumours about Real Madrid and Barcelona are there, they are real, he needs to give the club clarity.

'The club need clarity about whether Paul Pogba is going to carry Manchester United through this difficult period with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over this next three years and be at the forefront of it, or whether he's going to jump ship go somewhere else, no problem with that, just do it quickly Paul so the club can move on.'

Neville believed the World Cup winner has similar traits to United legend Bryan Robson - a suggestion that was swiftly dismissed by Carragher.

'My problem with Pogba is not is he world class or not, or has he got talent, he's got unbelievable talent,' Carragher said. 'Pogba's problem for me is he's either nine out of 10 or four out of 10.

'Bryan Robson is seven or eight out of 10 every week, now and again 10 out of 10 and now again four out of ten. There's no in between with Pogba. He's either the best player or the worst player.

'I don't think you can build a team around a player like that. They're so hit and miss. I think the players you build teams around are the midfielders I spoke about just then, you know what you're getting every single week, you're not going to get that from Paul Pogba.'
