But why should a millionaire take a pay cut for millions when the billionaire can afford to pay you.

The owner making even more money in the Bay Area.

But he is setting up the rest of players in nba to take a fall but taking a pay cut in his prime. Pretty soon all owners going to want prime players to pay for much less than market value.

Agents and future players that’s trying to cash in don’t like that.

I don't think it's about saving them money but moreso about being comfortable with what they created, the culture, the atmosphere and his
willingness to sacrifice some things to keep that alive.

Klay has been well off for what, I assume, is most of his life so money ain't really that big of a deal to him. Some people are wired like that.

I doubt the players association let him take a deal that far below market value anyways.

They will talk him out of it because all that does is put more power in the hands of the owners with deals like this.

And they don’t want that shit looking like the NFL in the next CBA.

I mean, at some point, when do you put your own self interests ahead of the owners?

Michael Jordan, arguably one of the best players ever in the history of the game, with 6 rings, made 98.3M in NBA earnings.

Yea, i know, the market, CBA, etc... was different, but what he has done with Jordan Brand wont be matched ever by another player. Its not even close. Thats an exception to the rule

Klay and others, should get as much money as possible.
