Curious how people felt about that cliffhanger that never played the game

I’ve played some of the game, without getting ahead to spoil myself.

They’ve expanded on some things story wise from in the game, and did a good job with it. Which makes it weird that they ended the season in such an abrupt manner. No epilogue or nothin.

Not sure what they could’ve done, but it was oddly anti climactic.

That said I’m gonna wrap up my playthrough on part one and jump right into part 2. Not waiting on the second season

Idec that Joel lit the hospital up. He know ellie wanted to try and wouldn't want anyone else to have her life. He took that away and pretty much made their journey meaningless

I never played and the cliffhanger doesn’t bother me. To be honest, if there wasn’t a part two I’d probably be ok with that. It ended quite well. A little messed up that he lied to her and took her choice away, but if there weren’t already a part two I’d not know where else they could go with it.

Ellie had no clue her life would forfeit, no reason for a 14 year old to be put in this position. Fuck Marlene for that bullshit
Ellie lived a life of loss and turmoil from her first seconds on this planet. Let her be the one to say no she doesn't even wana try.

I’d agree with this. And Marlene was right that Ellie would choose to sacrifice herself. Joel knew this too. She’s displayed a sense of purpose this whole time.

in a perfect world the fireflies should’ve explained to ellie the procedure requires her to sacrifice herself, and let her make her own decision

…in a perfect world. but this world is fucked, and the fireflies were desperate

so instead they attacked ellie and joel, knocked joel unconscious, prepped ellie for death surgery without her agreement, forced joel to gtfo by gunpoint leaving his “daughter” behind, and they thought shit was gonna be sweet? they had joel wick fucked up

but joel was wrong because he made an incredibly selfish decision since he couldn’t handle losing another daughter

everybody wrong but i understand why they made those decisions

Where do yall rank this Season 1 compared to other HBO shows season 1s?
Station 11 is better....
