The reason I brought it up was because when we were growing up, the options for where to get entertainment were limited and competition for viewers was high.
So, in order to get the most of viewers, programs would do certain concepts to bring the most of a bunch of different kinds of viewers.
Some people watch sports center for the highlights, some for the commentary, some for the analysis
Now with the way people take in media with so many different options.
People go directly to the types of media for the specific reasons that they would before have to fish out of media designed to appeal to a lot of people.
So the same type of individual that watch’s sports center for reactional commentary
Is the same type of person that likes that and seeks it elsewhere. So it’s not that it’s new or exploded.
It’s that it’s more focused so you see it more as it’s not blended into anything else
They’re getting the pure cocaine and not the crack, so to speak
