People are forgetting about Hot Boys by Missy Elliott feat Nas and Q Tip. That song came out in 2000 and was number one on the Billboard charts for like 18 weeks. It was in the Guinness Book of World Records for being #1 for the longest amount of time.

That was supposedly when Nas fell off.

it was alot of shit goin on at the time. Jay was getting bigger and bigger. Jadakiss was looking like he had next forreal....Nas leapfrogged all that

that was a hell of a comeback even if the retrospect excell spreadsheet doesn't suggest so

Dude was never bad, but went from being highly unknown and beefing with buddens to doing his jail bid and disappearing. Then he just popped up again. Was never a huge notice of "Ransoms out of jail!!". Dude just started dropping music. Then that music started hitting some ears and got him some props and now he's doing collabs with some pretty well known rappers. Also his releases have been quality and consistent af. He still has more to achieve, but he's a bigger artist than he's ever been today.
