Every week, gaming becomes worse and worse!

I don’t know what gaming will be like after GTA 6, but it will be very expensive

These consoles are 6 years old this November and keep going up. The next consoles will come 2027 / 2028 and those consoles will probably start at $1000, and games will be $80 to $100 each. Usually years later the price drops, now they have been raising. Shit I have been looking at more gaming news than gaming. October 2026 is the final nail in the coffin for all old ways of gaming. Nov 2026, GTA 6 shall bring a new style (that is slowly here) but will have a deeper impact as we enter 2027

I think M$, Nintendo, and Sony is seeing the loot that Valve is making off of Steam and thinking they can bring that model to their consoles. IMO, it only works for Steam because indie games thrive there thanks to the lower barrier to entry (no need to buy a PS dev kit, etc).

M$ is 100% definitely seeing what they are doing. In fact I think they want the Helix (next Xbox) to be the steam machine, but valve released their console first. They want gamepass to be their “STEAM” but gamepass don’t have 100+ cheap ass games. Also do you have to a subscription for steam?

Sony is seeing what is going on, that’s why they took all their games away and won’t be playable on PC. They did this last month around the summer games festival (between April and June) Sony and M$ were about to share (your games on ps5 and my games on Xbox/ PC) but Sony said no! I was just talking to my cousin about it, he said it perfectly.

Nope, no subscription necessary. Valve/Steam collects 30% off of each sale of any game on the platform, I'd like to think that's enough to keep them going.

Nintendo trying to pull some dumb shit with the Switch 2; I'm just waiting on it to backfire.

At this point, the crash is inevitable. Gaming will really become a luxury before long. I have a feeling Sony will change their mind about the disc shit after people really respond.

Outside of that, as long as there’s emulation, decomps and recomps, I’m good.

Sidenote, Steam summer sale and GOG sale is cracking right now lol

See no monthly subscription for a steam account. Just buy the expensive steam machine (or keep your PC) and you are good. Basically pay this expensive huge amount up front and then get a bunch of games for low prices

M$
You have to have a monthly subscription, less games, games get removed for new ones, Day 1 on game pass is kind of over, there is a rumor they may not put 3rd party games on gamepass any more, ITS NOT GOING TO WORK LIKE STEAM

There's also the Steam Deck, but even that shit is expensive.

Best bet is to cop an older PC or laptop for cheap and use it for Steam. Hook it up to a TV and you're good.
