im in a bit of a conundrum

I have mentioned here and there how much i like playing Project Zomboid. I unfortunately came across this video that kinda pulled back the curtain on some game mechanics I either never realized or just flat out ignored

but this game hits a dopamine switch like nothing I've ever played. It tricks you into thinking you just need to rethink your strategy to give you a better chance of just staying alive longer than you did the previous playthrough. Notice i didnt say it tricks you into thinking you're going to survive. This game still is in early access and has been for quite some time. Shit, it may never see a 1.0 release lol

but the video was basically like "you are going to die. it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of win" b/c currently, there is no actual endgame.

so my conundrum is, i know there isnt an endgame to beat, but i always fall into the trap of thinking "this playthrough will be the one I "win", but the reality is, there is no win, but I still want to play this, even if it's just to kill some time.

I'ma get back into it but I'm trying to get my house ready to be put on the market so my gaming about to chill for a while until that happens
