Welcome To aBlackWeb

I need a quick lesson on this

Can you dumb it down for me.

Where do you have your tokens now? Is it still on the exchanges like coinbase, binance, crypto.com etc?

What I typically do is make my purchases from the different exchanges and then immediately transfer it to my wallet OFF of the exchanges. In the early days folks lost a hell of alot by leaving shit on exchanges and them exchanges folding.

I personally use Exodus as my main wallet. I like that joint because it supports a whole lotta tokens in one wallet and the interface is nice.
https://www.exodus.com/

Guarda is similar in that regard as well

With those joints you get your keys as well. Folks been saying throughout this thread "not your keys.. not your crypto". Here's a quick rundown.

I recently had an issue with my main computer.. shit just died on me and my wallet was on that laptop. I had my keys though so I was able to restore the wallet to another computer.

Those are software wallets. There are hardware wallets that can be used as well. Trezor and Ledger Nano are some of the more popular ones

Hope this helps

Your crypto isn't completely secure online...hackers or a breach can get your coins and there's pretty much no way to recover them...a hardware wallet stores your coins on a device that you store somewhere safe like a safety deposit box or a safe In your home...Look up nano ledger s or ledger x to start with... your hardware will come with a recovery phrase that you write down and also store in a secure physical place (not on a computer)... once connected, you have to have that hardware device to get into your wallet.

I know a couple people who lost a decent amount of crypto to scammers before he got a hardware wallet..

Yeah. My 2nd ShitCoin. BabyBitcoin 1,000,000,000 for $50 and Greed 10,000 for $50. I try to buy at least one millionth of a coin’s circulating supply. It’s all about being a whale and holding a large percentage of a coins that bubble.
