Depends on what you're talking about. The Harley Davidson event (aka White Bike Week) always happens in close to the time of BBW. They have fights and craziness happen that week too, but there is usually far less gunplay and violence on that level at those events. That's what really leads cities to push back on event. Again, Myrtle Beach doesn't want to shut BBW. It's a huge revenue generator, but a string of violent incidents that week could adversely affect tourism for the entire season, so it puts the city in a tough position.
