Well from what I understand they are giving the food to food banks. I use to volunteer at a food bank before the pandemic and it was always volunteers. And these places are usually setup to handle the food and all that comes with it. Alot of churches out here in GA have a food bank setup and would probably serve as great places to help if food banks got overwhelmed.

I am sure there are alot of places that don't have good help

Getting the booster will have zero impact on an exposure that already happened, but if you had already planned to get it then go for it
