The Christian Dilemma

My style is impetuous.. My defense is impregnable

I found this interesting i don't see the "dilemma" myself I'd think rational logical people would come to the same conclusion which is.....

Ill post up later

I agree. I don't think you need religion in order to be one with god or however you interpret god to be. I think religion is generally a good template for knowing how to carry one's morality but thats pretty much where it stops for me.

Was working at a club back in the day and walked into a random conversation a promoter was having with a barback. He was saying unless a person accepts god and repents for their sins in life they cannot go to heaven after death.

So I inserted myself in the convo and asked "so Johnny the serial killer will be accepted in to heaven over Paul who never really sinned or had minor sins here and there throughout life if he accepts god and repents if Paul doesn't also accept god and repent? " He immediately responded yes.

Im like "shit I've sinned will probably continue to sin but in my heart I know im a good person thats just trying to live a half decent life. If my god doesn't know my heart and my conscience and is more accepting of that person than me cause I haven't charged my repentance card lately then I might have gotten shit wrong and maybe heaven isn't the place for me and thats alright. "

He didn't know what to say.

I grew up in church and Bible study till 15 but there's no dilemma for me. I have my own relationship with god as I perceive it and thats it.

It's funny to see when zealots get caught up cause they try to embody their particular religion and scripture (most of us just can't) instead of understanding where it makes sense and can be applied and where it does not. There was a simple answer for the pastor to give but he's allowed his religious beliefs to take control of his personality and couldn't fight the cognitive dissonance.

Some of the best people i have ever known follow a religion. Most of the best people i know believe in a god. Despite this, I still believe that religion is a problem anywhere that it is imposed on a state's infrastructure and culture. Not imposing on the state's culture is difficult because if most of the people share a personal culture, they tend to want their government to reflect its values. That doesn't sound strange at all. Its expected. I'm still against it. Despite what is said, there is no separation of church and state.

That's not even getting into why so many people think there's a god with a preference for them over others.

I feel like at the end of the day, for me it all boils down to treating people how YOU would like to be treated, and just not being an asshole in general.

When it's all said and done, if you treated people(and yourself right), if there is indeed an afterlife with a good place and a bad place - Then you should find yourself in the good place.

There are plenty of righteous people all around the globe that do not follow Christ, and if those folks are condemned to hell just for that reason alone - perhaps that aint a place i'm tryna spend eternity in

I always took it that Jesus is the way for people exposed to Him. I mean people that we know went to heaven like Moses, Elijah, David, etc... all came before Jesus, so none of them found their salvation through Jesus. The Bible acknowledges that not everyone was exposed to the Gospel. That's why spreading it is so important. James 4 talks about how knowing what's right and choosing not to do it is what's a sin. That's not quite the same thing, but I think the logic transfers.

Simply put, any logical person who isnt a sheep or brain washed by man would accept the fact that "religion" the practice of following or administering is wholly irrelevant to salvation , gods blessings etc...More over you dont get any extra points for being a follower of...

Any specific religion.. also most peoples practice, and evangelization is purely ceremonial and is self-serving many people masquerade and are non believers as they conduct and comport themselves divorced from any qualities of a loving nuturing God

Billions of people on the planet all at different stages of their own evolution in life and understanding. When you know enough, you know enough to not harshly judge those who don’t know enough, because at some point in time, neither did you.

And people aren’t saved by taking Jesus into their hearts, Jesus has already saved, people are reborn by taking Jesus into their hearts

Man is egotistical, every group believes they are better than the next group.

We've gotten better at that shit recently... Cuz progression shit...

But Christianity was baked 1,000's of years ago
The opposite of progressive. So of course the ONLY way to heaven is their way...I just think we gotta take that into consideration and give a little understanding and grace.

We don't know what exists outside of this dimension.. Both things could be right, Christian heaven could exist right next to Islam Jannah like continents on this planet.. We don't know... Just worship what ever gives you peace and respect others beliefs

The Bible answers all these questions. Folks don't want to accept the truth. Not much time left though.... See you at the crossroads, hope you're on the right. Amen.

It's the same old tired question that people always pose because they refuse to believe themselves. The question is always along the lines of, "Will God condemn the 'innocent' tribesman who has never heard the name of Christ?"
And the answer is No, because there are no innocent tribesmen!
Apart from Christ, all people are condemned as sinners. “There is none righteous” (Romans 3:10). God has clearly revealed Himself in nature (Romans 1:20) and in the hearts of people (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The problem is that sinners naturally reject this knowledge of God and rebel against Him (Romans 1:21–23). Sinners actively “suppress the truth” (Romans 1:18) and “are without excuse” (Romans 1:20). All people are responsible to God for what God has already revealed to them. And the majority of people reject the light that comes to them because they love sin more than righteousness.

So these endless debates about people who "never heard the name of Jesus" not having a fair shake at life is stupidity at its finest. They want to find loopholes to justify their refusal to believe the light that's been revealed to them, because they themselves have heard of Jesus Christ, and yet they don't want to surrender to him because they love death more than life. So let me find any and every excuse to reject the gospel so that I can feel justified in my unbelief, because in my sinful mind, the God of the Bible, Jesus Christ, is unfair - says the unbeliever.

So tragic and pitiful its shameful. But hey your soul, not mine.

See you at the crossroads. Sheep on the right, Goats on the left. GUARANTEED. In Jesus name. Amen.
