I laugh at the labels folks place on one another. I like ankhs, speak on natural remedies and call my husband a King, I "must" be a Hotep haha.

I read and follow "some" of the writings and philosophies of Mr. Marcus and have a Red Black and Green choker, I "must" be a Garveyite.

It's hilarious.

But honestly its men and women who are loudly, conspicuously and obnoxiously pro-black but anti-progress.

I don't have a problem with natural remedies and you call someone whatever you want if they're cool with it, I see nothing wrong there. My problem with hoteps is the pseudo-science, the was kings stuff they spout like it really matters, and the underlying or blatant misogyny.

They love the selective uplifting I was talking about in the tyrese thread earlier today

I mean due to white intervention we don't really have a clear idea of our history or lineage.

but I think it should be noted that Black people are so many things: farmers botanist Chefs Writers astronomers Director Mathematicians
...We don't need a "royal lineage" to be great.

I don't assume why others say it. I'm sure they can write an essay on why. They can have that though. lol

Truth and we are the greatest at ALL of that ISH.

King and Queen in the way that I use them and see us... We are the top of the chain, whatever we have the rudiment we RUN and we dominate. The top of the Totem. The best at all we do.

We call the best hip hop artist the "KING" of hip hop
the best Pop artist The "KING" of pop.
The best female R&B singer... the "QUEEN" of R&B.

Not because they are of royal background but because they are arguably the best in that genre.

WE are the best to ever do it, PERIOD. I believe that of ya'll even if you don't believe it of yourselves. Real talk.
So yeah, they subscribe to those titles for different reasons, but for me.. King and Queens we are in this biotch and Kings and Queens we will remain.
